The 50-year-old, who played in Essendon's 1993 and 2000 Grand Final teams before shifting into an assistant coaching role under James Hird, shredded the culture of the club.

So dismayed by what has become of his old stomping ground he has said he won't attend premiership reunions or club functions until serious changes are made and wants a review undertaken into the club's administrative and football department operations.

Wallis says the club went from being the envy of every other club after their scintillating 2000 season but are now a "lifeless environment".

"Twenty years ago when we won the 2000 premiership we were the most envied sporting club in Australia," Wallis said in an explosive interview with the Herald…
