<p>Fines for unlawful gatherings in Victoria are set to triple, from the current $1650 penalty to almost $5000.</p>
Melbourne residents will spend their final night under a 9pm curfew tonight, with Daniel Andrews announcing the stage four measure will be lifted .

He has continually defended putting the curfew in place as a way to limit movement and assist police in enforcing coronavirus restrictions.

Instead, fines for unlawful gatherings are set to triple, from the current $1650 fine to almost $5000.
