Veteran AFL journalist Damian Barrett says he "can't see" Ben Brown being at North Melbourne next season.
The forward, who is the only player to have kicked 60 goals or more in each of the last three seasons, is out of contract at the end of this year.

"I can't see him being there (next year)," Barrett said on Triple M's The Rush Hour.

"The fact that they pushed back even before the COVID-19 shutdown on the offer from North. The offer from North was three years, effectively the same monetary attachments to the deal, but he wanted four years.

"His currency has plummeted ... the noises around it - Adam Ramanauskas is not one to ever, really, say too much publicly - he's his manager.

"He was quite open today, I think it was ABC radio, just saying 'we can't sign now, there's nothing in front of us'. It's obviously now an unknown situation ... he's not a free agent so the club that wants him will have to cough up a draft pick."
