North Melbourne confirm fallen forward Ben Brown told to look elsewhere

North Melbourne have confirmed they have told forward Ben Brown to look for a new home.
Brown, who is out of contract but not a free agent, was given the news by coach Rhyce Shaw and footy boss Brady Rawlings last Friday.

It caps a horror 12 month stretch for the 27-year-old, who fell out of form and favour at the club after three consecutive seasons kicking more than 60 goals.

Finals Week 1

"It's not a decision we've made lightly as Ben has been a tremendous part of our club since 2014," Rawlings told the club website.

"It was a very honest discussion Ben was very mature and understood our decision. We will work with Ben and his management to secure a mutually beneficial outcome."

It follows a brutal list cull the club announced following its season, with 11 players told they would not be offered a contract for 2021.
