HOW TO: Player signing reveal 1:18

ARSENAL

Thomas Partey, Atletico Madrid

Arsenal are chasing Atletico's midfield maestro but have so far been unwilling to meet his £45m release clause. He would slot into the holding role with ease and allow the likes of Dani Ceballos to have more of an influence further up the field. Arsenal don't have the money available to them at the moment though, and will likely have to sell before they can buy.

ASTON VILLA

Josh King, Bournemouth

Aston Villa need goals and too much of their success last season was based around Jack Grealish. Keeping him is the most important thing for them this season, but they will also need a new striker, with fans set to be disappointed if Trezeguet, despite his season-ending form, and Wesley are the starting forwards this season. Josh King is affordable at about £20 after Bournemouth's relegation and can cover both through the middle and out wide and was a Manchester United target six months ago.

BRIGHTON

Ollie Watkins, Brentford

Brighton will likely have similar targets to Aston Villa given they will be working with similar budgets and similar season expectations and Brentford's Ollie Watkins is available for around £25m, eclipsing the £20m spent on Neil Maupay 12 months ago. They have a good relationship with Brentford, who have impressed with their squad in the Championship before losing to Fulham in the play-off final.

BURNLEY

Joe Worrall, Nottingham Forest

Burnley's main priorities this window are tying their players – and their manager – down to new contracts while fending off bids from West Ham for defender James…
