Ashleigh Guest has shared the bloody aftermath to a horrific eye injury in the Western Bulldogs' win over Geelong on Friday night.

In a low-scoring scrap at GMHBA Stadium, skipper Ellie Blackburn was again the shining light on Friday night as the Bulldogs pulled away late to win 3.6 (24) to 1.3 (9).

But the performance was overshadowed by some concern for Guest, whose face swelled up immediately after a fourth-quarter collision with Richelle Cranston.

Photos showed a significant bump above her eye as a trainer helped her off the field.

"Luckily Guesty didn't look in the mirror because she's a bit squirmish and might've fainted at her own sight," Bulldogs coach Nathan Burke said.

Guest, who ended the night with heavy taping across her head, shared an image of the swelling on Saturday morning with the caption 'pretty'.
