It was the most dramatic of finishes and showed the true value of fighting until the final whistle.

And Perth High School's grit and determination has booked them a special date with destiny in a national competition.

The talented under-15 girls' side will compete in the final of the Scottish Schools' Football Association Shield next Friday.

Their ticket to the showdown game was made possible thanks to an incredible 7-6 victory against St John's RC High School this week.

The Perth pupils had been 4-2 to the good but were pegged back and, heading into the closing stages, were trailing 6-4.
