The funding is part of Veolia's Sustainability Fund, which has supported 27 projects with more than £16,000 since its launch in 2021.
The fund is open to not-for-profit organisations, community groups, and individuals who can apply for up to £1,000 for projects that enhance biodiversity, promote sustainable waste behaviours, protect or preserve resources, or use recycled, reused, or reclaimed materials. The nine projects that received funding in 2024 include St Pierre's School, which is creating a sensory garden, and Kingsdown Primary School, which is growing vegetables and soft fruits in their nature space.
