MensXP got in touch with Chandrachur Singh to understand what went wrong when things were looking fine in his acting career.
Chandrachur Singh is a name that was still not forgotten after so many years after he made his debut with Gulzar's Maachis which put a stamp on the fact that he is a talented actor. He tasted commercial success too with movies like Tere Mere Sapne. But things didn't go the way he was expecting as some situations bogged him down and he had to quit acting. He returned to the acting sphere after a long time with Aarya.

I got in touch with Chandrachur Singh to understand what went wrong when things were looking fine in his acting career. I also talked about him being a single father. Here are excerpts from my interview:

How's the lockdown treating you? Is it frustrating somewhere? For me, I am completely exhausted as it's been a while.

Yes, it's frustrating as it's actually been a while and I really hope this gets over soon. Initially, it was ok and we kept going but after a while, it surely gets to you. I have a 13-year-old kid , now even he feels unsettled as there's no one to play outside. There's nothing happening and we never imagined that something would happen like this.

Yes, I truly agree with that. So, I wanted to know that you were doing well in the film industry and people used to like you then why did you take such a step of not being an active part of the fraternity?

See, there are cumulative factors. A lot of things happened including the surgery that I had of my shoulder which got dislocated during a shoot. Consequently, the surgery happened but it was affecting me during the shoots and it was sort of me being physically handicapped. And then, there were a lot of projects that didn't get the light of day, some were ready for release but they didn't, and some were incomplete. I made my choices and you keep learning through your wrong decisions. So, there are a variety of reasons why I left and then, the gap became longer.
