Mayor Bill de Blasio expects a decision from Gov. Andrew Cuomo on his proposal to shut down both public and private schools and non-essential businesses in nine COVID-19 hot spots in Brooklyn and Queens by Monday afternoon.

"We're waiting to hear the state's response to this plan. I expect to hear something in the next few hours," de Blasio said on CNN's "New Day" around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

Cuomo is expected to give a news conference in Manhattan around noon Monday.
