Matt Groening says he "didn't have a problem" with white actors voicing non-white roles in animated series "The Simpsons."

In a BBC News interview published Wednesday, the show's creator discussed the racial controversy surrounding white actors voicing some of the show's characters of color.

"Times change but I actually didn't have a problem with the way we were doing it," Groening said.

He added: "All of our actors play dozens of characters each, it was never designed to exclude anyone."
