MIT Professor Rohit Karnik has been named the new director of the Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS), the only program at MIT specifically focused on water and food for human need.

MIT's Abdul Latif Jameel Water and Food Systems Lab (J-WAFS) awarded a $150K Solutions grant to Patrick Doyle and team to commercialize rapid removal of micropollutants from water using sustainable hydrogel microparticles.

As J-WAFS Grand Challenge awardees, Matt Shoulders of MIT's Department of Chemistry will lead an interdisciplinary team of researchers to improve RuBisCO — the photosynthesis enzyme thought to be the holy grail for improving agricultural yield.
