Zoe Fisher, a doctoral student in the Department of Nuclear Science and Engineering and the Plasma Science and Fusion Center at MIT, is studying how defects in ceramics form during radiation damage, toward designing a more practical ceramic that can insulate the inside of fusion power plants.
