South Korean rescuers on Sunday pulled nine bodies from a flooded tunnel where around 15 vehicles were trapped in muddy water, as days of heavy rain triggered flash floods and landslides and destroyed homes across the country, officials said.

The fatalities were reported on Friday and Saturday, all in the central and southeastern regions, officials said.

A technology has been developed to quickly convert livestock manure, a significant issue in animal farming, into valuable "black gold" rich in carbon within a day.

Days of heavy rain triggered flash floods and landslides and destroyed homes across the country. Dozens have died and thousands have been evacuated.
