Shekhupura also known as Qila Sheikhupura (Urdu: شیخُوپُورہ , Punjabi: شیخُوپُور) is a city in the Pakistani province of Punjab. Founded by the Mughal Emperor Jehangir in 1607, Sheikhupura is now the 16th largest city in Pakistan, and is the headquarters of Sheikhupura District. Sheikhupura is also the headquarters of Sheikhupura Division. The city is an industrial center, and satellite town, located about 38 km northwest of Lahore. According to the 2017 Census of Pakistan, its population is 473,129.
