Springbok Showdown: Rassie Erasmus working remotely due to health reasons

SA Rugby's director of rugby Rassie Erasmus remains in isolation and will not be with Team Green in their build-up to Saturday's "Springbok Showdown" against Team Gold at Newlands.
The rugby governing body announced via a press statement on Monday that Erasmus would continue to work remotely due to a pre-existing health condition.

SA Rugby said the decision was made to minimise the 2019 World Cup-winning coach's risk during the Covid-19 pandemic.

He will also not attend Saturday's match.

In 2018, Erasmus was diagnosed with a rare condition that causes inflammation of the blood vessels including in the throat and lungs, which increases vulnerability to the impact of a potential Covid-19 infection.
